more ambitious software with the expense of a host of features which will, largely remain unused, this little programme fits the bill perfectly. 'Instantmask' comes in two versions, one of them free, but which lacks the 'Pro' version's versatility. I tried 'Pro' out on an image of a furry animal, and the way it managed the outlines was quite impressive. There are anomalies, for instance when the foreground and background are of similar tone, but it is possible to put the unprocessed parent image into a 'graphics' programme to deal with critical areas by doing those
parts of the masking manually (I'm assuming a green-screen background, which was my application), then turn it over to Instant-mask to do the rest, which it will do most effectively.
